Weightless shadows flutter on a clothesline against the white sunlight, or perhaps they are linens, floating on the breeze. A figure in a flowing dress stands motionless, poised to catch the shadows, a silhouette herself against a cloudless sky. Frozen in time, and forgotten just as quickly, the figure recedes and disappears into the distance. A light melody plays beside my ear as I rest my head against the cool window. Leafless trees blur into a grey haze, their outstretched branches dappling the sunlight much as leaves would. Is this happiness, I wonder, as the warmth of the jacket around my shoulders begins to feel heavier with the weight of sleep, and the sunlight around me begins to glow with the golden hue of memories.
