Window

Along this lonely path, as I tread into muted sunlight, two skies reveal themselves to me. Raindrops fall lightly from the sky above, and create ripples on the windows beneath my feet. Each window is illuminated by the sky below, whose eternal sunset glows far away, and dissolves whenever I approach. I kneel beside the nearest window. Fallen leaves obscure my view, and I send them off to unknown skies with a single breath and a soft farewell. The window quivers in response. Cool air tingles through me as I breathe, and my fingertips feel cold against the windowpane. A gentle push, and my hand dips into the air below. I hesitate for a moment, maybe less, and plunge into the cloudless depths.
